Welcome!
Looking for an outdoor experience like no other in the area? Look no further - The Greenway is approximately 2,200 acres of natural open space in the heart of Grand Forks, ND and East Grand Forks, MN.
What's your pleasure? The Greenway features several parks, campground, 2 golf courses, 3 disc golf courses, over 20 miles of multi purpose trails, shore bank fishing sites and so much more! Come enjoy this unique opportunity for year-round outdoor recreation right in the heart of our two communities!
The Greenway concept was initially proposed by the North Dakota Congressional Delegation after the flood of 1997. The Greenway is more than a device for flood mitigation; it is an enhancement to the quality of life for residents of the Greater Grand Forks area.

Here's the status on some of the Greenway amenities:
Debris in grass
When will the boat ramps reopen? All boat ramps have reopened. Recent heavy rains may cause the river to rise over the next few days so check local media and this website for current status.
When will the dog park in Lincoln Drive Park reopen? An exact opening date is not known yet. There are four steps to preparing the dog park for use again: The ground will need to dry out to allow crews to access the area, remove the silt deposits, reseed where necessary, and reestablish the turf to avoid muddy areas. This process could take several weeks to complete.
Where can I take my dog until this dog park reopens? Another dog park is located at the Circle of Friends Humane Society, 4375 North Washington Street. Call 701-775-3732 for more information.
When will the lower trails reopen? City crews will remove debris and silt from the lower trails when the ground will support heavy equipment. The first step will be to scrape the silt from the trails, followed by sweeping with a power broom. Some trails may need to be pressured washed to remove any remaining silt.
Our first priority is the safety of all Greenway users. We appreciate the concerns about the Greenway facilities and ask for continued patience as the cleanup process continues.

The Greenway Technical Committee serves as a technical advisory board to the managing agencies of the Greenway. Membership of the committee includes representatives of the four managing agencies and other parties interested in the development of the Greenway. The Greenway Technical Committee has no governing authority but serves as the primary mechanism for the four managing agencies to discuss Greenway management issues. Meetings are held bimonthly and are open to the public. Staff from the four managing agencies meets on the alternate months.
The Greenway & Trail Users Advisory Group is open to local citizens who share an interest in the development and use of the Greenway and trails in the Greater Grand Forks community. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month.
