Marketing/ Training Internship (PSAP)
This internship will be assigned to the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) department and will assist with a number of different tasks and projects. The intern will update and maintain accurate information for CodeRED and E-Dispatch database programs. They will also update and improve the department social media platforms and also assist the training coordinator with developing and updating the current staff training program with new and updated materials. The intern will then develop and implement the new training program for the PSAP department.   Marketing or Human Resource majors preferred. ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates seeking to be considered for an Internship must meet or comply with the following requirements:

  1. Is currently enrolled in an accredited College or University as a full or part-time student.
  2. Has a current minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Able to work 20 hours per week not to exceed a maximum of 40 hours per week (typically between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday).
  4. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  5. Preference will be given to those candidates with previous experience in marketing or HR OR with those candidates working towards a bachelors/master’s degree in marketing or HR. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates selected for an Internship will be expected to comply with all City and Department rules and regulations.  In addition, candidates will be expected to:

  1. Be a self-starter of good moral character and a strong work ethic.
  2. Possess strong communication and organizational skills.
  3. Be detail orientated, with problem solving and analytical skills.
  4. Be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  5. Establish and maintain good working relationships with associates and supervisors.
  6. Have the ability to multi-task
  7. Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel and different Social Media platforms.

EXPECTATIONS:
Candidates selected for an Internship will be expected to comply with all City and Department rules and regulations.  In addition, candidates will be expected to:

  1. Wear appropriate business casual attire during working hours.
  2. Conduct themselves in a professional manner.
  3. Maintain the confidentiality of any information obtained through the Internship Program.
  4. Record their time daily by clocking in and out each day and manage schedule with assigned Division Internship Mentor.
