Leaf Collection Update 10-6-17
Next week City crews will begin the annual fall leaf collection. This is not only a great service provided by excellent City employees, it’s also a service residents really appreciate and pay a lot of attention to.
The Digital Media Report for the last 2 weeks in October of 2016 shows our leaf collection page was the most visited page on the City’s website with 1,701 visits in that 2 week span.
The Public Information Center has already begun receiving calls from people with questions about this year’s leaf collection. In the spring people talk about pot holes, in the fall we talk about leaf collection!
With that in mind, we have created a website you can check or forward people to grandforksgov.com/leafcollection. You have also been added to an email list that will get daily updates on the progress and statistics for the leaf collection program. We will create an opportunity for this E-Notification to be available to residents as well, but we wanted to make sure you are armed with current data and information.
Public works has done an outstanding job, not only on the leaf collection program, but on making all this information readily available.
- Vacuum leaf crews collected 682 tons of leaves.
- Residents self-hauled an additional 933 tons of leaves to one of the 7 yard waste sites in Grand Forks.
This year we’ll keep you up to date on those numbers for the 2017 leaf collection program.
If you’re not interested in being included in this E-Notification let the Public Information Center know and we’ll remove you from the list.
