Mayor Michael R. Brown presented his State of the City address on February 26, 2014 at the Alerus Center.

Brown’s message was simple: Invest. He argued that Grand Forks is a solid investment for new and expanding businesses.

He outlined the importance of investments in ‘Development Infrastructure’, or as Brown explained, “. . .the roads, pipes and mechanics for growth”.

In his speech, Brown called for the creation of a Blue Ribbon Commission on Social Infrastructure. “Grand Forks is becoming stronger, more diverse, richer in opportunity, and simply moving forward.” Brown said. “But as we move forward, we must move forward together.”
