As a college town, the availability of rental units in Grand Forks drops with the student influx in the fall and rises with the exodus in the summer.  This is reflected in the vacancy rate data below -- surveys are done in February when UND is in full session and in July during summer vacation.  While the seasonal swings are normal, the recent low vacancy rates are not.  The local rate typically averaged between 5½ and 6%.  For available rental units, search locally here.
