Mosquito Traps: Fact or Fiction?

Numerous mosquito elimination devices appear on the market each season with claims that they attract, repel or kill outdoor mosquito infestations. These claims should be thoroughly investigated before making a purchase.

Scientific research has shown the effectiveness of many of these devices are poor, so be sure to research all the information! The American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA) has published their position on mosquito traps.

Rutgers University has information about products and promotions that offer limited value for mosquito control.
