Grand Forks, ND – Voters have rejected a measure that would have raised the Grand Forks city sales tax by one percent for three years.
The vote was 2741 yes and 4535 no. The measure would have amended the city’s home rule charter to allow the City Council to impose the additional tax to pay for the design, acquisition, renovation, construction, improvement and furnishing of a public library in Grand Forks.
