Sales tax collections continue to be strong in Grand Forks. The City received more $1.8 million in February, making it the sixth largest monthly total since the inception of sales tax in Grand Forks in 1985.
This marks the third consecutive February that sales tax revenue has landed in the top 10 list.
“We’re off to a great start with our sales tax collections,” said Maureen Storstad, Grand Forks Finance Director.
The February sales tax revenue represents the sales tax collected for the month of December 2012.
The sales tax collected for 2013 totals nearly $3.5 million, roughly equivalent to last year’s totals.
