Two way traffic will be restored early this afternoon on a portion of South Columbia Road that has been closed since early May. The City of Grand Forks will reopen two lanes of traffic – one northbound and one southbound – from 11
Avenue South to the Columbia Road overpass.
The Cities Area Transit (CAT) route 8 will resume its regularly scheduled route when the traffic lanes reopen on Columbia Road.
Construction crews will also be closing the on-ramp and off-ramp connections to the Columbia Road overpass that have remained open for the past several months. Detour signs will be in place to alert motorists.
Those ramps and the remaining lanes of Columbia Road are scheduled to re-open by September 3, 2013, weather permitting.
