Most city, county and state offices will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2013 in observance of Labor Day. Regular City business will not be conducted on that day. However, emergency police and fire services will continue to operate as scheduled.
All Cities Area Transit (CAT) buses including the Night bus, Senior Rider and Dial-A-Ride will not be running on Labor Day, but will resume regular routes on Tuesday, September 3.
City services such as refuse collection will not take place on Monday. Regular Monday pickup for the “A” route will take place on Tuesday, September 3, and Monday’s “B” route pickup will be on Wednesday, September 4, along with regularly scheduled routes.
Recycling pickup scheduled for next week will be pushed back one day later than normally scheduled throughout the week, because of the holiday. For example, Monday’s recycling pickup will take place on Tuesday – Tuesday’s pickup will take place on Wednesday, etc. The week will end with Friday’s recycling picked up on Saturday. The Grand Forks City Council meeting normally scheduled for Monday, September 2 will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council chambers. The meeting will be broadcast live on GFTV Cable Channel 2.
All offices in the County Office building and County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, September 2, including Northeast Human Services and Child Support offices. They, along with City offices, will reopen for business on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
