Grand Forks, ND – The City of Grand Forks, in cooperation with the City of East Grand Forks, will close the Sorlie Bridge on Demers Avenue on Saturday, April 9, 2011 as floodwaters continue to rise.

The bridge will be closed to traffic at noon.

The National Weather Service projects the Red River in Grand Forks may reach a level of approximately 51 feet by the middle of next week, which would make the approach to the bridge impassable.
