MINUTES/PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITTEE

Members present: Hafner, Lucke.

1. Matter of consideration of construction bids for various projects:_______________________________________________
a) Proj. 4998, Dist. 576, paving and street light in University Village Addition (CDBG.
Mark Lambrecht distributed est. project costs and programs of work programmed for the University Village, met with Univer-sity and special assessment district set up and University committed to go ahead with the projects through this funding or find other funding for the project. He reported there were minor informality in bids, required shop drawings and only one submitted shop drawings, plans showed exact light fixtures, and is minor informality.

Moved by Lucke and Hafner that failure to submit shop drawings as minor informality; and that we award bid to Nodak Contracting in the amount of 4554,997.50 and alternate E1C in the amount of $20,700.00. Motion carried.

Lunak reported present.

Mr. Lambrecht reported they haven’t received written approval from the Dept. of Transportation, talked to and will be coming. Mr. Grasser reported there’s no guarantee for signals at this spot.

b) Proj. 5070, Rehabilitate Pump Station #3 (CDBG)
Tom Hanson reported 10 bids received, Hobbs low on general and Bergstrom low on electrical portion of the bid. Moved by Lucke and Lunak to return the bid of Hanson Electric of Bemidji, Inc., unopened because of failure to acknowledge Addendum No. 4 and to accept the bid of Hobbs, Inc. for general contract in the amount of $106,00.00 and to accept the bid of Bergstrom Electric, Inc. for electrical contract in the amount of $114,426.00. Motion carried.

2. Matter of chemical bids for 2000.
The committee reviewed the chemical bids; moved by Klave and Lucke to approve the low chemical bids for 2000 (as submitted by the water treatment plant). Motion carried.

Moved by Lucke and Lunak to return bids that did not meet deadlines. Motion carried.

3. Matter of change order for baling facility.
Mr. Hanson presented change order for baling facility. Moved by Lucke and Lunak that we approve the change order in the amount of $8,204.00 rather than $7,194.00. Motion carried.
