BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT

The Board of Zoning Adjustments held a public hearing in Room A102 of City Hall. A notice was placed in the Grand Forks Herald, as required by City Ordinances.

Chairman Kent Anderson called the meeting to order at 10:35 AM.

Members present were: Kent Anderson, Del Scholler, Lynn Vreeland, Mark Peterson, Larry Boltz and Jim Galloway.

Member absent was: none

It was moved by Lynn Vreeland and seconded by Jim Galloway to dispense with the reading of the last meeting’s minutes. Motion passed unanimously.

The following appeals were heard:

1. Structures, Inc, on behalf of Vetter & Wald, 4850 Gateway Dr, has made a request for a variance to the paving requirements [Section 18-0302(12) of the Land Development Code] in order to develop the property. Legal Description: Lot 5, Block 1, Korynta-Lemm 4th Resubdivision.

It was moved by Lynn Vreeland and seconded by Mark Peterson to allow crushed concrete surface area coverage for the portion of the part of the property in lieu of paving in order to develop the property. Motion carried with Jim Galloway and Larry Boltz voting in the negative.

2. Scott Meland, on behalf of Joel Walz & Hayley Svedjan-Walz, 1118 Reeves Dr, has made a request for a variance to the impervious surface area and side yard setback requirements [Sections 18-0209(7) & (9A) of the Land Development Code] in order to build an addition on to the home. Legal Description: Lots 15 & 16, Block 5, Lindsay’s Addition.

It was moved by Jim Galloway and seconded by Del Scholler to allow only two and one-half feet (2.5’) of sideyard setback and up to forty-five percent (45%) of impervious surface area coverage in order to build an addition onto the home. Motion passed unanimously.

Lynn Vreeland moved for adjournment and was seconded by Mark Peterson. Motion passed unanimously.
