BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT
July 22, 2010

The Board of Zoning Adjustments held a public hearing in Room A101 of City Hall. A notice was placed in the Grand Forks Herald, as required by City Ordinances.
Chairman Kent Anderson called the meeting to order at 10:35 AM.
Members present were: Kent Anderson, Lynn Vreeland, Mark Peterson and Larry Boltz
Members absent were: Del Scholler and Jim Galloway
It was moved by Lynn Vreeland and seconded by Mark Peterson to dispense with the reading of the last meeting’s minutes. Motion passed unanimously.
The following appeals were heard:
1. Virgil Vigen (Johnny’s Lounge), 701 S 15

St, has made a request for a variance to the impervious surface requirements [Section 18-0216(7) of the Land Development Code] in order to pave the parking lot. Legal Description: Lots 112 – 115, Block D, Willmar Addition.
It was moved by Lynn Vreeland and seconded by Larry Boltz to allow one-hundred percent (100%) impervious surface area coverage in order to pave the parking lot. Motion passed unanimously.
2. Joseph & Kathy Freeman, 4202 62

Ave S, have made a request for a variance to the accessory building requirements [Table 18-0206(5) of the Land Development Code] in order to build a detached garage. Legal Description: Wolf Subdivision #2.
It was moved by Mark Peterson and seconded by Lynn Vreeland to allow only twenty feet (20’) of side yard setback in order to build a detached garage. Motion passed unanimously.
Lynn Vreeland moved for adjournment and was seconded by Larry Boltz. Motion passed unanimously.
