Meeting Minutes

Present: Sandy Slater, Vice Chair, Caprice Benoit, Sharon Bures, Chuck Flemmer,
Gordon Iseminger, Melinda Leach, Gerad Paul, Dale Sickels
Others: Kevin Severson, RRVCA; Peg O’Leary

Slater called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.; a quorum was present.

Motion: to approve the minutes of the Feb. 10, 2009, meeting as presented.

Motion carries.

Red River Valley Community Action – Kevin Severson
1812 4th Avenue North (built 1961) – The house is not in an historic district and shows no potential for listing on the National Register.
Motion: to concur that no historic properties are affected by the proposed work on this property. (Benoit, Paul)
Motion carries.
1501 Rider Road (built 1975) - The house is not in an historic district and shows no potential for listing on the National Register.
Motion: to concur that no historic properties are affected by the proposed work on this property. (Paul, Benoit)
Motion carries.

Chair Report – No report.

Coordinator Report – Peg O’Leary
UND Nomination – Nomination author Michelle Dennis agrees that the required changes are pretty straightforward. She has other commitments but can work on this after the first of March.
County Fairground Nomination – We still have not heard on this NRHP nomination. Lorna Meidinger has said she will contact the NPS on Feb. 11, if she has not heard from them by then.
National Trust Award Nomination – O’Leary supplied a draft copy of the narrative. The nomination will be ready to go by the postmark deadline of March 2, 2009. Letters of support are needed; Bures suggested Terry Hanson, Housing Authority.

Other Business
MPO 4th Ave. S./ MN Ave. Report – Benoit said the state’s consultant waited too long to complete his survey in the fall and this has contributed to a delay in the final report.
Grand Forks Public Library – Benoit reported that the library is ready to issue an RFP for a consultant who has library administrative experience.
