BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT
June 3, 2010

The Board of Zoning Adjustments held a public hearing in Room A102 of City Hall. A notice was placed in the Grand Forks Herald, as required by City Ordinances.
Chairman Kent Anderson called the meeting to order at 10:35 AM.
Members present were: Kent Anderson, Lynn Vreeland, Mark Peterson, and Jim Galloway. (Kent Anderson and Lynn Vreeland were both in attendance by phone)
Members absent were: Bob Kleve and Del Scholler.
It was moved by Mark Peterson and seconded by Kent Anderson to dispense with the reading of the last meeting’s minutes. Motion passed unanimously.
The following appeals were heard:
1. James & Jill Bisson, 7351 S 23

St, have made a request for a variance to the accessory building requirements [Table 18-0206(5) of the Land Development Code] in order to build a detached shop. Legal Description: Lot 1, Block 2, Wheatland Acres 2

Subdivision.
It was moved by Jim Galloway and seconded by Lynn Vreeland to allow only twenty feet (20’) of sideyard setback in order to build an outbuilding. Motion passed unanimously.
2. Jeffrey & Karmin Thompson, 805 Cottonwood St, have made a request for a variance to the impervious surface area requirements [Section 18-0209(7) of the Land Development Code] in order to build a detached garage. Legal Description: Lots 21 & 22, Block 7, Hackney’s Addition.
It was moved by Lynn Vreeland and seconded by Kent Anderson to allow up to forty-five percent (45%) of impervious surface area coverage in order to build a detached garage. Motion passed unanimously.

Lynn Vreeland moved for adjournment and was seconded by Jim Galloway. Motion passed unanimously.
