Grand Forks Civil Service Commission
March 13, 2003
The Grand Forks Civil Service Commission was called to order at 3:30PM by
Chairperson Kvasager. Commissioners Bredemeier, Kvasager, Johnson, MacGregor
and Nies present.

CHANGES/ADDITIONS TO AGENDA
Daryl Hovland, Assistant HR Director, presented the following changes/additions
to the agenda:
1) Presentation of Award to Chairperson Kvasager.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Nies and seconded by MacGregor to approve the February 13, 2003
minutes as amended. All approve, motion carried.

PRESENTATION OF AWARD TO ARVIN KVASAGER
Daryl Hovland presented a plaque to Arvin Kvasager on behalf of the Grand
Forks/East Grand Forks Metropolitan Planning Organization for his years of
service and dedication to that organization.

PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATION CUT-OFF SCORE
Firefighter, Senior
Mr. Hovland presented that the selection criteria already approved for the
Firefighter, Senior already has a promotional examination cut-off score of 50%.
The candidate scored 64%. No action necessary.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION CUT-OFF SCORE
Equipment Operator – Sanitation
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by MacGregor to establish the written
examination cut-off at 78.00% thereby allowing 32 candidates to move forward to
the interview process. All approve, motion carried.

RE-ASSIGNMENT (PROMOTIONAL) REGISTER
Firefighter, Senior
It was moved by MacGregor and seconded by Bredemeier to establish the
re-assignment (promotional) register at 56.329% as follows:
Robert Kramer
All approve, motion carried.

Equipment Operator, Senior
It was moved by MacGregor and seconded by Nies to establish the re-assignment
(promotional) register at 64.821% as follows:
James Gierszewski
Terri Nicholls
All approve, motion carried.

ELIGIBILITY REGISTER
Communications Specialist – Public Information
It was moved by Johnson and seconded by Bredemeier to approve the eligibility
register for the position of Communications Specialist at 84.00% as follows:
Lachelle Troff
Sharyl Simeone
Stephanie Wigness
Trish McQuire
Kathy Aamold Dietz
Laurel Bartlett
All approve, motion carried.

Office Specialist – Public Works
It was moved by Johnson and seconded by Bredemeier to approve the eligibility
register for the position of Office Specialist – Public Works at 84.00% as
follows:

Julie Sturges
Bonnie Kee
Leeanne Bryant
Melissa Dashiell
Gloria Hooker
Peggy Klockmann
All approve, motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by MacGregor to adjourn the March 13,
2003 Civil Service Commission meeting. All approve, meeting adjourned. The
meeting adjourned at approximately 3:43PM.
