MINUTES/PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Monday, March 7, 2000 -7:15 p.m.

Members present: Bakken, Martinson, Bouley.

1. Request from Cirrus to bring plane into city (landing plane
on DeMers Avenue west of city).____________________________
Dave Dickson, 674 Barley Court, Grand Forks, presented request - that they would like to come in for open house job fair for Cirrus, and would like to have airplane at job fair; and reviewed landing and take-off procedures (will land west of Amtrak Station, landing zone between 83rd and 69th Streets, that he viewed area and will bring pilot in prior to landing and take-off), will taxi plane to Cirrus plant. He reported that he had discussed with Lt. Kirby of the police department, Sheriff Dan Hill, Fire Chief O’Neill. He noted FAA has given agreement and they will do final coordination with them. He noted entire procedure matter of 15 minutes; and event will be coordinated with those departments, etc. involved.

Moved by Martinson and Bouley that based on the city attorney’s approval of completed hold harmless agreement, to permit Cirrus to do this on this coming Friday and Saturday. Motion carried.

Moved by Bouley and Martinson to adjourn.
