MINUTES/PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITTEE
Monday, July 17, 2000 - 6:15 p.m.___________
Members present: Kreun, Hoff, Klave.
(Hoff stated that the minutes of the meeting of July 10 were not accurate as they did not include items relating to comments he had made during the landfill discussion; also comments by Mr. Christensen and Mr. Ebertowski - minutes will be revised to include those comments)
1.
Matter of bids for North 69th Street pavement, City Project No. 5145.
Tom Hanson, WFW, reported they had received 5 bids under the Engineer’s estimate and recommended award to Robert Gibb & Sons dba Urban Contracting. This street is located between Gun Club and Vet. Clinic and has heavy truck traffic. (Bid info. had been provided to the committee members prior to the meeting). Moved by Kreun and Hoff to accept the bid of Robert Gibb & Sons, Inc. dba Urban Contracting, L.L.C. on a unit price contract in the amount of $1,165,808.20. Motion carried.
Klave reported present.

Matter of bids for surplus property (houses).
Mike Yavarow, reported they had opened bids on 12 houses with final price allowed oral bidding and selling 9 of the 12 houses, and recommended award to highest bidders. Chas. Grotte, asst. city engineer, stated last 4 house will added to next bidders list, terms in contract. Moved by Klave and Hoff to accept high bids on parcels: 103 Grassy Hills, $10,000; 3723 Belmont Road, $10,000; 3205 East Elmwood, $15,500; 3312 East Elmwood, $13,300; 1023 Lincoln Dr., $5,000; 2423 Olson, $15,800; 3134 Olson Drive, $8,100; 120 Spruce, $5,000; 200 Hughes, $4,200. Motion carried.
3. Matter of Change Order No. 7, Construction Engineers, Ltds, Baling Facility Structure,
City Project No. 5086_______________________________________________________
Tom Hanson, WFW, reported change order authorized graveling of 27th Avenue N. on east end of baling facility paving - $85,002.00. Hoff asked when baling facility open; Mr. Hanson stated in 2 weeks. Moved by Hoff and Klave to approve Change Order No. 7.
4. It was noted that one of the houses listed under the non-profit surplus be moved to the surplus listing and be placed on the bidding list (on council agenda for tonight’s meeting) and committee will move on the floor. Mr. O’Leary stated tenants have 90 days notice.
Moved by Klave and Hoff to adjourn. Motion carried.
