June 11, 2001

The city council of the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota met in the council chambers in City Hall on Monday, June 11, 2001 during the Committee of the Whole meeting under Special Action Items at the hour of 10:20 o’clock p.m. with Mayor Brown presiding. Present at roll call were Council Members Brooks, Bjerke, Stevens, Hamerlik, Burke, Glassheim, Gershman, Christensen, Klave, Kerian, Bakken, Kreun - 12; absent: Council Member Lunak, Martinson - 2.

APPROVE POLICY OF RENTAL OF DRY-SIDE CITY
OWNED HOUSES

The staff recommendation of the Urban Development Committee relating to the matter of policy of rental of dry-side City owned homes, with recommendation to authorize staff to provide dry side homes to owners affected by accelerated process giving preference to those who have been provided the least amount of notice and to use its discretion whether to pull homes off the sales market if and when the need arises; and to provide such program through December 31, 2002 unless extended by council action.

It was moved by Council Member Hamerlik and seconded by Council Member Kreun that this recommendation be and is hereby approved. Carried 12 votes affirmative.

It was moved by Council Member Klave and seconded by Council Member Kreun that we do now adjourn. Carried 12 votes affirmative.
