MINUTES/PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Monday, December 5, 1994 - 7:00 p.m.

Members present: Hoeppner, Johnson, Sande.

1. Applications for gaming permits:
a) Kappa Chapter of Pi Theta Epsilon, UND - raffle
b) Grand Forks County 4-H Leaders Council - bingo/raffle on
June 18, 1995.
c) South Forks Lions Club - raffle
d) Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 2 - raffle
e) University Lutheran Church - WELCA - raffle
f) University of North Dakota Foundation - site authorization
g) Grand Forks County Water Rescue - raffle, February 1
All applications had been reviewed and approved by the city attorney, (with a), b) and g) approved subject to resolution recognizing groups as being public-spirited. The committee reviewed the applications. It was moved by Sande and Johnson that the applications (c), d), e) and f) be approved; and that we adopt resolutions recognizing these organizations (a), b) and g) as public-spirited organizations eligible to conduct games of chance, and to approve the applications. Motion carried.

2. Request by Westward Ho for refund of fee for special
alcoholic beverage permit.
It was reported that Bruce Bork, Westward Ho, had requested refund (or credit) of permit fee for special alcoholic beverage permit as event at 121 North 5th Street on December 3, 1994 was canceled. It was moved by Sande and Johnson that this request be approved and the fee ($25.00) be refunded. Motion carried. (comm. only)
