MINUTES
CITY OF GRAND FORKS - BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
April 12, 1994

The city council of the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota was called to meet as the Board of Equalization in the city council chambers on Tuesday, April 12, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. as required by the North Dakota Century Code, with Mayor Polovitz presiding. Present at roll call were Council Members Beach, McCabe, Kulas, Beyer, Shores, Johnson, Hagness - 8; absent: Council Members Hoeppner, Hanson, Glassheim, Crawford, Lien, Geller - 6.

Mayor Polovitz announced that the Board of Equalization would receive formal protests and consider appeals of individual property assessments as made by the assessor's office. Copies of the rules and regulations from the NDCC pertaining to the City Board of Equalization had been distributed to the members of the Board of Equalization.

REFER FORMAL PROTESTS TO FINANCE COMMITTEE

Mayor Polovitz called for presentation of protests and/or appeals. Formal protests were presented by the following property owners, protesting the assessed valuation of their property:

1) Roland Scott, 110 32nd Avenue South.
2) Bob Simons, appearing in behalf of client, Triple A of North Dakota, 2701 South Columbia Road, stated he would like to enter protest concerning value of that property, distributed summary sheet to the Board, and that private appraisal report would be made available for their review.

It was moved by Council Member McCabe and seconded by Council Member Johnson that the protests be received and referred to the finance committee of the city council for further consideration and to report back with recommendation. Carried 8 votes affirmative.

RECESS

There being no further protests to be presented to the Board, it was moved by Council Member Johnson and seconded by Council Member Shores that the Board of Equalization recess and reconvene May 2, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. to accept additional protests and/or appeals. Carried 8 votes affirmative.
