Committee Minutes
MINUTES/URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Monday, December 18, 1995 - 6:30 p.m.
Members present: Beach, Glassheim, Hanson.
1.
Determination of funding on 1996 promotional applications.
The committee reviewed staff recommendations, noted that several projects were not recommended for funding, i.e., #16, CBD Celebrate the Season, #10 Grand Forks County Historical Society, and #15 Children's Science & Technology Education Foundation; and committee questioned whether #3 Riverbank/Business District maintenance could be funded from excess sales taxes. Mr. O'Leary stated that money is available in excess sales taxes; that #15 City gave huge contribution with use of building, #16 could come from Beautification funds. Chairman Beach noted that during Civic Center Process Committee meetings, it was stated that Chamber of Commerce could be weaned from this process. Bob Gustafson stated that the $10,000 wouldn't make or break them but helpful.
