MINUTES
CITY OF GRAND FORKS - BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
April 11, 1995

The city council of the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota was called to meet as the Board of Equalization in the city council chambers on Tuesday, April 11, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. as required by the North Dakota Century Code, with President Hagness presiding. Present at roll call were Council Members McCabe, Hanson, Glassheim, Beyer, Babinchak, Geller, Hagness, Beach - 8; absent: Council Members Hoeppner, Hamerlik, Carpenter, Sande, Klave, Johnson - 6.

Mel Carsen, city assessor, stated that the Board of Equalization would receive formal protests and consider appeals of individual property assessments as made by the assessor's office, however because his office was late in sending out notices to property owners of increases in property valuations, he was requesting continuation to May 1 to receive protests and/or appeals. No written protests had been filed with the city auditor's office.

RECEIVE FORMAL PROTESTS

President Hagness called for presentation of protests and/or appeals. No protests were presented.

RECESS

There being no protests at this time, it was moved by Council Member McCabe and seconded by Council Member Hanson that the Board of Equalization recess and reconvene on Monday, May 1, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. to receive formal protests and/or appeals to the assessed valuation of property as made by the assessor's office. Carried 8 votes affirmative.

Respectfully submitted,

Alice Fontaine, City Clerk
