MINUTES/PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Monday, January 5, 1998 - 7:15 p.m.
Members present: Sande, Beyer, Glassheim.
1.
Bids for police vehicles.
Chief Packett reported that vehicles are budgeted along with federal grant and that low bids came in as follows: Hansen Ford
bid 5 vehicles for $67,174.50 and $61,898.54 for 3 4-wheel drive vehicles; and Rydell Chevrolet bid 3 4-wheel drive vehicles for a net bid of $59,119.00; (total bid of $126,293.50, with federal grant of $23,993.00 for net bid of $102,300.50).
Moved by Beyer and Glassheim to accept the bid of five vehicles from Hansen Ford Sales, Inc. in the amount of $67,174.50 and to accept the bid of Rydell Chevrolet in the amount of $59,119.00 for 3 Blazers. Motion carried.
2. Application from The Blacksmith Shop of Grand Forks, Inc. dba
Ponderosa, 2717 South Columbia Road, for Class 3 (Off and/or
On Sale Beer and Wine) license.
It was noted that the application had been approved by the police and health departments. Moved by Beyer and Glassheim to approve the application for Class 3 license. Motion carried.
3.
Applications for gaming permits:
a) North Dakota Museum of Art - raffle 02/07/98.
It was noted that the application had been reviewed and approved by the city attorney. Glassheim asked to be excused from voting and it was so moved and seconded by Beyer and Sande. Moved by Beyer and Sande to approve the application for permit. Motion carried, Glassheim abstained from voting. (Comm. only)
