MINUTES/PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Monday, August 21, 1998 - 10:30 a.m.

Members present: Bouley, Martinson.

1. Request from Rio Bravo Cantina, 3000 32nd Avenue South, for
variance to noise ordinance on August 27, 1998.
Mike Kelly, general manager, presented request for variance to the noise ordinance, start at 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., would extend to parking area and would have controlled access for alcoholic beverages. Moved by Martinson and Bouley that request be granted subject to approval of police department and city attorney. Motion carried. (Comm. only)

2. Application for gaming permit - site authorization by Rotary
Club of Grand Forks for October 10, 1998.
John Schmisek reported this is event the Rotary Club has held for the past several years, with certain number of tickets sold, and this would be sent to Attorney General's Office with their application. Moved by Martinson and Bouley that site authorization be approved. Motion carried. (Comm. only)

3. Application for block party on August 27 on 4th Avenue North,
1900 block, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. - and block street at North
19th and North 20th Streets.
Moved by Martinson and Bouley to approve subject to police department's and city attorney's approval. Motion carried. (Comm.only)
