MINUTES/PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITTEE

Members present: Hafner, Lucke, Lunak.
1. Matter of consideration of construction bids for Project No. 4719,
restore sanitary sewers in Area 2.________________________________
Tom Hanson, WFW, presented summary of bids, bid from Visu-Sewer Clean & Seal, Inc. didn't have exterior envelope with bid bond and contractor's license, not opened, didn’t indicate sealed bid enclosed, no bond and license. Mr. Vein stated this is requirement of State law, not minor - procedure for bid, written out in specs.
Moved by Lucke and Lunak that we reject the bid and return bid unopened. Motion carried.
b) Thomas Hanson reviewed bids and recommended award to Lamotti and Sons, Inc. in the amount of $3,,356,715.00, had some optional things to do, bids not funded by FEMA, $37,000 item deleted. City share $495,000 - need 8% for Contingencies, $165,000 available funds for upgrades.
Moved by Lucke and Lunak that we accept the low bid of Lamotti & Sons, Inc. in the amount of $3,356.75, with C.O. #1 deleting item 14.052 in the amount of $37,000 and adding items recommended in the amount of $165,000 and authorize expenditure of CDBG funding. Motion carried.
2. Matter of plans and specifications for Project Nos. 4847.1,
4847.2 and 4847.4, sanitary, water and paving on Poplar Circle.
This project would be funded privately. Moved by Lucke and Lunak to approve plans and specifications. Motion carried.
3.
Matter of consideration of units, new and used for Street
Dept
Todd Feland presented info. report - 3 trucks, prices range from $32 to #37.500, average $112,000 framework showed to $500; $9,000 to $14,000 dif. between new unit by Reiten and used unit - use Govt. discount Receive and file information.
