MINUTES
Grand Forks Civil Service Commission
March 9, 2006
Chairperson MacGregor called the Grand Forks Civil Service Commission to order at 3:30PM. Commissioners Nies, Johnson, Bredemeier and Burlog present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Nies and seconded by Johnson to approve the February 2, 2006 Special Meeting Minutes as presented. All approve, motion carried. It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Nies to approve the February 9, 2006 regular Civil Service minutes as presented. All approve, motion carried.
CHANGES/ADDITIONS
HR Director Hovland requested the following items as changes to the agenda:
1) Request to extend the eligibility register for the position of Wastewater/Stormwater Service Worker.
2) Request for placement on the reemployment register.
It was moved by Nies and seconded by Bredemeier to approve the changes to the agenda. All approve, motion carried.
WELCOME NEW CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONER
WAYNE BURLOG
Commissioners welcomed Wayne Burlog to the Commission for a 3 year term.
EXAMINATION CUT-OFF
POLICE OFFICER
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Nies to approve 75.00% as the examination cut-off for the Police Officer position thereby allowing 35 applicants to move forward in the process. All approve, motion carried.

REASSIGNMENT REGISTER

It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Johnson to approve the reassignment register at 93.00% for the Administrative Specialist position as follows:

It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Burlog to approve the reassignment register at 70.601% for the Fire Marshal position as follows:

CONSIDERATION BY COMMISSION FOR ELIGIBILITY OF
NON-CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE
Angela Biby
It was moved by Johnson and seconded by Bredemeier to approve Angela Biby’s request per 6-0513, to apply as an internal candidate for the Communication Specialist position. Discussion held. All approve, motion carried.




ELIGIBILITY REGISTER EXTENSION REQUEST
Wastewater/Stormwater Service Worker
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Nies to extend the eligibility register for the Wastewater/Stormwater Service Worker position until July 14, 2006 per 6-0515. Mr. Feland stated he received notice of an upcoming retirement no later than June 1, 2006. All approve, motion carried.
REEMPLOYMENT REGISTER REQUEST
POLICE OFFICER
ORIE OKSENDAHL
It was moved by Burlog and seconded by Nies to approve the request of Officer Orie Oksendahl to be placed on the reemployment register for one year. All approve, motion carried.
CIVIL ENGINEER, SENIOR
RUSTEN ROTELIUK
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Nies to approve the request of Civil Engineer, Senior Rusten Roteliuk to be placed on the reemployment register for one year. All approve, motion carried.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR, URBAN DEVELOPMENT
KEITH LUND
It was moved by Nies and seconded by Johnson to approve the request of Deputy Director, Keith Lund to be placed on the reemployment register for one year. All approve, motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Johnson to adjourn the March 9, 2006 regular meeting. All approve, motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 3:57PM.
