PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA
June 27, 2006
The city council of the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota met in the council chambers in City Hall on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the hour of 7:00 o’clock p.m. with Mayor Brown presiding. Present at roll call were Council Members Brooks, Hamerlik, Glassheim, Gershman, Christensen, Kerian, Kreun - 7; absent: none.
RECOGNITION OF RETIRING COUNCIL MEMBERS
Mayor Brown expressed appreciation on behalf of the City and citizens of Grand Forks for their years of service and that he would be recognizing city council members who will be leaving and Council Member Gershman who will be remaining on the city council. Retiring council members are Council Members Hamerlik and Kerian.
Mayor Brown presented plaques to Council Member Gerald Hamerlik, representing Ward 2, June 19, 1994 through June 2006; Council Member Dorette Kerian, representing Ward 6, April 2001 through June 2006; and to Council President Gershman, Ward 4, as president of the city council from June 2004 through June 2006, and thanked them for their service and efforts to make our community and city a better place.
Rick Duquette, city administrator, stated he represents the department heads and the city employees with these comments to Council Members Kerian and Hamerlik, thanked them for their service to the Grand Forks community, that both of them have been a valuable resource to this community, a friend to public employees and were leaders and important resource to all of us, and we seriously thank each of them.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS
The council members stated their appreciation and thanks to Council Members Kerian and Hamerlik, that they were proud to service with them and wished them good health and Gods speed.
ADJOURN SINE DIE
It was moved by Council member Kerian and seconded by Council Member Hamerlik that we adjourn sine die. Carried 7 votes affirmative.
