Grand Forks Civil Service Commission
May 11, 2006
Chairperson MacGregor called the Grand Forks Civil Service Commission to order at 3:32PM. Commissioners MacGregor, Nies, Bredemeier and Burlog present. Commissioner Johnson absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Burlog and seconded by Bredemeier to approve the April 13, 2006 minutes as presented. All approve, motion carried.
CHANGES/ADDITIONS
HR Director Hovland requested the following items as changes/additions to the agenda:
1) Reemployment Register requests
2) Information Item of updated City of GF Organizational Chart
3) Delete Reassignment Register for Equipment Operator, Lead in the Street Division
It was moved by Nies and seconded by Bredemeier to approve the
changes/additions to the agenda. All approve, motion carried.
ELIGIBILITY REGISTER
Police Officer
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Nies to approve the eligibility register at 70.14% for the position of Police Officer as follows:

EXAMINATION CUT-OFF
Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
It was moved by Nies and seconded by Bredemeier to establish the written examination cut-off at 70.00%, thereby allowing 12 candidates to move forward to the interview process. All approve, motion carried.
REEMPLOYMENT REGISTER
POLICE OFFICER - DAVID OKSENDAHL
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Burlog to approve the request of David Oksendahl to be placed on the reemployment register. All approve, motion carried.
COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER – COLLEEN ECKLIE
It was moved by Nies and seconded by Bredemeier to approve the request of Colleen Ecklie to be placed on the reemployment register. All approve, motion carried.
FIREFIGHTER – BRIAN HUBER
It was moved by Burlog and seconded by Bredemeier to approve the request of Brian Huber to be placed on the reemployment register. All approve, motion carried.
ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST – PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Nies to approve the request of Kristi Bachman to be placed on the reemployment register. All approve, motion carried.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent
It was moved by Burlog and seconded by Nies to approve selection criteria for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent as follows:
75% - Department Interview
25% - Human Resources Interview
as consistent with all other Superintendent positions in Public Works upon approval by City Council for the position to be placed in the classified city service. All approve, motion carried.
INFORMATION ITEM
Updated City of Grand Forks Organizational Chart
Human Resources Director Hovland, distributed the updated City of Grand Forks Organizational Chart to the Civil Service Commissioners. No action necessary.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Burlog to adjourn the May 11, 2006 regular meeting. All approve, motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 3:52PM.
