Grand Forks Civil Service Commission
October 12, 2006
Chairperson MacGregor called the Grand Forks Civil Service Commission to order at 3:34PM. Commissioners Bredemeier, Johnson, Burlog and Nies present. None absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Johnson to approve the September 14, 2006 regular minutes as amended on page three, regarding the written examination cut-off for Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to read, “thereby allowing four (4) individuals”…. All approve, motion carried.
CHANGES/ADDITIONS
HR Generalist Wilkie presented the following changes to the agenda:
1) Hold waiver of prohibition and eligibility to apply for reassignment per 6-0521(6) until November.
2) Hold Written Examination Cut-Off for Equipment Operator, Senior until November.
It was moved by Burlog and seconded by Nies to approve the changes to the agenda as presented. All approve, motion carried.
ELIGIBILITY REGISTER
Fleet Maintenance Mechanic (Central Garage)
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Burlog to establish the eligibility register at 73.00% as follows:
Terry Birkholz
Kevin Hanson
Rick Ranisate
Dale Helms
All approve, motion carried.
REASSIGNMENT REGISTER
Community Development Manager
It was moved by Nies and seconded by Burlog to establish the reassignment register for the Community Development Manager at 95.00% as follows:
Meredith Richards
All approve, motion carried.
UD – Administrative Services Manager
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Johnson to establish the reassignment register for the UD Administrative Services Manager at 98.00% as follows:
Tina Hoffart
All approve, motion carried.
Firefighter, Senior
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Nies to establish the reassignment register for the Firefighter, Senior at 55.3060% as follows:
Jeffery Laskowske
Matthew Hageman
All approve, motion carried.

Distribution of Civil Service Code, Chapter 6, Supplement 16
Ms. Wilkie distributed the update from the City Attorney of Civil Service Code, Chapter 6, Supplement 16 to the Commissioners and informed the Commission that the Grand Forks City Code is available at
www.municode.com
for reference.
SCHEDULE APPEAL OF DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Donna Stumphf
It was moved by Burlog and seconded by Nies to allow Chairperson MacGregor to choose an attorney to represent the Grand Forks Civil Service Commission in the appeal of disciplinary action and to schedule the appeal hearing for
Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 1:00PM in City Hall, Council Chambers.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Bredemeier and seconded by Burlog to adjourn the October 12, 2006 regular meeting. All approve, motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 3:50PM.
