Minutes of Grand Forks City Council/Growth Fund
Authority (JDA) - Monday, December 20, 2010 - 5:30 p.m.____

The city council of the city of Grand Forks sitting as the Growth Fund Authority met in the council chambers in City Hall on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the hour of 5:30 p.m. with Vice Chairman Glassheim presiding. Present at roll call were Council Members Bjerke, Grandstrand, Glassheim, Christensen, Sande, Kreun, Mayor Brown - 7; absent: Council Member Gershman.

APPROVE CONVEYANCE OF PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING
CENTER CAMPUS TO THE CITY OF GRAND FORKS

The staff report from the director of urban development relating to the Public Safety Training Center Campus, with recommendation to authorize conveyance of the property described as 1220 South 52nd Street to the City of Grand Forks, subject to review and approval by the city attorney.

Greg Hoover, director of urban development, reported that in 2004 the City started to build the public safety training campus at the Industrial Park on land owned by the JDA, the land was leased to the City for a nominal cost and at the end of that lease the intent was to transfer that property to the City with the City to continue to pick up the special assessments, that the JDA has paid about $83,000 in assessments and that the estimated balance of assessments is approx. $88,000.

It was moved by Mayor Brown and seconded by Council Member Kreun that the recommenda-tion be approved. Upon call for the question and upon voice vote, the motion carried 7 votes affirmative.

It was moved by Mayor Brown and seconded by Council Member Sande that we adjourn. Carried 7 votes affirmative.
