PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA
June 24, 2008
The city council of the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota met in the council chambers in City Hall on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the hour of 5:30 o’clock p.m. with Mayor Brown presiding. Present at roll call were Council Members Hutchison, McNamara, Gershman, Christensen, Kreun - 5; absent: Council Members Glassheim, Bakken - 2.
RECOGNITION OF RETIRING COUNCIL MEMBERS
Mayor Brown presented Ms. Phyllis Brooks a plaque recognizing Council Member Brooks who passed away in January, 2008, for his years of service to the city in Ward 1 from June 19, 1998 to January, 2008.
Council Member Hutchison stated it was an honor and privilege to finish Council Member Brooks' term, that he knew Bob for 35 years and that meant something to him and thanked council for that privilege. He also stated his appreciation to the city council, staff and city employees, and that serving on the council has been an enjoyable experience.
Mayor Brown presented plaques to council members for their years of service: Bill Hutchison, representing Ward 1, February 2008 to June, 2008; Eliot Glassheim, representing Ward 3, June 2004 to June, 2008; Douglas A. Christensen, representing Ward 5, June 2004 to June 2008; and Curtiss Kreun representing Ward 7 June 2004 to June, 2008. Gifts were also presented to the wives of the mayor and council members for sharing their husbands.
Retiring council member is Council Member Hutchison.

It was moved by Council Member Gershman and seconded by Council Member Hutchison that we adjourn sine die. Carried 5 votes affirmative.
