The City of Grand Forks is offering a new way to pay utility bills. On-line payments can now be accepted, simply by logging on to the city’s web page at www.grandforksgov.com

It’s hoped the move will result in better customer service and greater efficiencies with staff. The new payment method will allow the Finance Department to reduce the hours the Utility Billing windows are open. The new hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Monday, December 3, 2012.

“We are always looking for ways to save taxpayers money and create more efficiency,” said Maureen Storstad, Finance Director for the City of Grand Forks. “Residents will continue to have the same top quality of service they expect and deserve.”

The City of Grand Forks also provides an outdoor drop box for payment that is located on the north side of City Hall. And as part of the Mayor’s Green3 Initiative, Grand Forks residents can sign up to receive their utility bills via e-mail. To sign up, customers need their account number and verification code – both of which are on current utility bills – and log on to www.grandforksgov.com
