Earth Day Contest Winners

Mayor Michael R. Brown congratulates the 2011 Earth Day Contest Winners!

Our contestants created an artistic or functional item using reused/recycled materials. The Mayor and our recycling sponsor, Waste Management Inc. presented the winners with a certificate and $100 in cash.

Age 10 yrs. & Younger






Artistic Winner: Lyric Langill for her entry "Newspaper Vase" made with a glass bottle, newspaper, grocery bags, tissue paper.





Functional Winner: Anna Robinson for her entry "Anna's Purses" made with a book cover, placemat, scarves, and decorative items.








$50 Mayor's choice Honorable Mention: Lauren Robinson for her entry "Flower Garden" made from paper tubes, construction paper, and fabric.

Ages 11-17 yrs.






Artistic Winner: Angela Vrolyk for her Environmental Awareness entry made with styrofoam and colorful imagery.





Functional Winner: Sharing Shamrock 4-H Club for their entry "T-Shirt Tote Bag".





$50 Mayor's choice Honorable Mention: Ian Picklo for his entry "Golden Brigade" made with a glass bottle, cardboard, tape & gold spraypaint.

Ages 18 & older:






Artistic and Functional Winner: Carmen Walker for her entries "Barnwood Mirror" and "License Plate Bird Feeder".
