Grand Forks Recycling Program

Residential curbside pick-up occurs every other week. Place items on the berm by 7:00 am on your designated day. For additional information call 738-8740.

No more separating what you recycle!
Simply mix all your recyclable materials together in your existing crates or any bin/crate of your choice!

What to Recycle

  • Mixed Plastic Containers (#1-7)
  • Glass Bottles & Jars (any color)
  • Newspapers
  • Cardboard
  • Magazines
  • Office paper
  • Junk mail
  • Paperboard (cereal, soda boxes, etc.)
  • Plastic bags - Return to your local grocery store for recycling
What NOT to Recycle
  • Styrofoam
  • Window Glass
  • Dishware
  • Lightbulbs

SPRING CLEAN UP WEEK IS MAY 2-6, 2011
The City will collect reasonable household quantities of appliances, brush, furniture, etc. for free during this annual collection. The process is simple--put your items out on your refuse day where you normally place your garbage by 7:00 a.m. and the City will take them. If you choose to haul them yourself, the landfill has extended hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from April 30 to May 7, 2011 (except Sunday, May 1, 2011).
