Street Sweeping

On average the Street Department sweeps 900 lane miles a week. City streets are swept weekly after spring clean-up, weather permitting. Keeping the gutter line clean helps beautify the neighborhoods and maintain our storm water drainage system.

Last year the Street Department swept a total of 23,000 lane miles and over 10,000 cubic yards of debris off city streets.

Street Cleaning - $20 parking ticket fine

No Parking - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

  • Tuesday - streets that run East & West
  • North of the Burlington Northern Tracks
  • Wednesday - streets that run North & South
  • Thursday - streets that run East & West
  • Friday
  • ALL streets south of 32nd Ave S. & east of S. Washington
  • ALL streets west of Columbia Rd. & south of DeMers Ave.

Public Works Tip of the Month

Spring Clean Up Week is May 3 - 7 ,The City will collect appliances, brush, furniture and household items for free during this annual collection. The process is simple - put your items out on your refuse day where you normally place your garbage by 7:00 am and the City will take them. If you choose to haul them yourself, the landfill has extended hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm from May 3 - 7.
