MINUTES/URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Monday, July 19, 1993 - 7:15 p.m.

Members present: Lien, Carpenter, Hanson.

1. Matter of calling for bids for expansion of FTZ bldg.
Curt Siewert reported that the committee had authorized architectural services several weeks ago; that they met to finalize plans, and are read to take bids on the first phase. Moved by Carpenter and Lien that we authorize advertising for bids for expansion of the FTZ building. Motion carried.

1. Storefront application at 1200 S. Washington Street.
Dave Beach presented application for funds. Curt Siewert reported that the program written for central business district, and couple years ago cut out min-grants; however, this property could be eligible on spot blight basis. Mr. Beach stated that if there was concern about granting funds and project not happening, that if awarded mini-grant and do not go forward with project, will reimburse amount of the mini-grant. Mr. Siewert reported there is about $16,000 unobligated in the program.

Hanson reported present.

After further discussion it was moved by Carpenter and Lien that we approve the mini-grant of $500.00 and approve project outside of the normal downtown area.
