MINUTES/PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Monday, November 7, 1994 - 7:15 p.m.

Members present: Hoeppner, Sande.

1. Matter of bomb suit purchase.
Chief Paschke reported they have three proposals to military government specs., and that their choice happens to be the high bid. After some discussion it was moved by Sande and Hoeppner to accept the bid of MED-ENG EOD-7A and EOD-7 helmet in the amount of $9,975.00, 50% share cost with the University of North Dakota. Motion carried.

2. Matter of police SET weapons exchange.
Chief Paschke reported they want to upgrade weapons, but downgrade power of those weapons; will reduce liability concerns, and no additional training required. Moved by Sande and Hoeppner that we allow police department to up-grade by even-exchange six Colt 223 caliber weapons for four 9mm. Colt and two AR-15 9 mm. Colt weapons from Omni Distributing, Inc. Motion carried.

3. Applications for gaming permits:
a) Belmont School PTO - bingo 11/18/94
b) Winship Elem. School PTO - bingo 11/14/94
c) Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce - raffles several dates
in February through May 4, 1995.
d) Habitat for Humanities, Campus Chapter - raffle 1/22/95
e) Beta Alpha Psi-Zeta Chapter - raffle 12/09/94
f) Dakota Boys Ranch - raffle 12/02/94
g) North Dakota AMVETS Post 19 - raffle 12/13/95 (withdrawn)
It was noted that applications had been reviewed and approved by the city attorney. Moved by Sande and Hoeppner to approve the applications. Motion carried. (comm. only)
