MINUTES/PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Tuesday, December 27, 1994 - 3:45 p.m.

Members present: Hoeppner, Sande.

1. Matter of application for outside fire protection from S & S
Transport, Inc., 3315 N. Washington Street.
Asst. Chief Ron Phelps reported they are still working with assessing and requested removal from agenda. Held in comm.

2. Matter of truck traffic at 12th Avenue North and North 20th
Street.
John Thompson, traffic engineer, reported he had been called twice by Mr. Feist re. this matter; that Concrete, Inc. is using 12th to deliver materials to job site, and that he called Concrete, Inc. Moved by Hoeppner and Sande to receive and file. Motion carried.

3. Request for four-way stop signs on corners of 4th Street and
Fenton Avenue.
There was no one present to speak to this matter. Moved by Hoeppner and Sande to receive and file. Motion carried.

4. Matter of purchase of unmarked police vehicle (with trade).
Chief Paschke asked that they be able to pool with rest of city departments and call for bids at the same time for a 1995 sedan w/trade or alt., without/trade. Sande and Hoeppner moved to authorize call for bids as requested. Motion carried. (committee only).

5. Matter of budget transfer.
Mr. Shields, Health Dept., reviewed request to transfer $1,400 from Temp. Salaries to Contracted Personnel Services, they subcontracted personnel through Kelly Temporary Services for temporary employee. Moved by Sande and Hoeppner to approve the budget transfer. Motion carried. (comm. only)

6. Applications for gaming permits:
a) Coon N' Crockett Muzzleloaders - raffles on 2/26 and 7/30 b) Development Homes, Inc. - amendment to site authorization to increase number of tables from 3 to 4.
Application a) had been reviewed and approved by the city attorney. Moved by Sande and Hoeppner that these applications be approved. Motion carried. (committee only).

7. Temporary and overtime statement for November, 1994.
Moved by Hoeppner and Sande to approve. Motion carried. (committee only).

A motion was made by Chairman Hoeppner and seconded by Sande to recognize Ron Phelps, asst. fire chief, in appreciation of his many years of service to the City. Motion carried.
