MINUTES/PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE
Monday, December 16, 1996 - 7:00 p.m.

Members present: Sande, Ellingson, Glassheim.

1. Matter of Chaps alcoholic beverage license (118 N. 3rd St.)
Larry Stauss stated he owns building and he and his brother hold license. He stated they have been negotiating with company in St. Cloud, O'Hare's, who own micro-brewery; however, have not reached agreement. He stated he was not here for extension but to explain situation.

After further discussion it was moved by Glassheim and Ellingson to receive and file. Motion carried.

2. Application from Delta Holdings III, LLP dba Bonanza of Grand Forks, 1800 South Washington Street, for Class 3 - Off and/or On Sale Beer and Wine license.
It was noted that application had been received and was being processed (police department), that engineering department had approved license as to location. Moved by Ellingson and Glass- heim to grant license for Off and/or On Sale Beer and Wine license pending approval by various departments. Motion carried.

3. Applications for gaming permits:
a) Greater Grand Forks Barracuda's Swim Team -raffle 12/21/96
Moved by Glassheim and Ellingson that we adopt a resolution recognizing the Greater Grand Forks Barracudas Swim Team as a public-spirited organization eligible to conduct games of chance. Motion carried. (Comm. only)

b) St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center - raffle 02/09/97.
Moved by Glassheim and Ellingson that the applications be approved subject to review by the city attorney. Motion carried. (Comm. only)
