MINUTES/PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITTEE
Monday, May 6, 1996 - 7:15 p.m.

Members present: Hagness, Beyer, Hamerlik, Klave.

1. Consideration of equipment bids:
a) fluoride feed system for water plant.
Bids were opened, however; the low bidder, Spirit Pump, bid only one pump rather than two; Hazel Fetters-Sletten notified Spirit Pump and was quoted price verbally by phone; they were asked to resubmit their bid which they did and which was un- opened. Howard Swanson, city attorney, advised they could either reject all bids and rebid, or accept bid properly submitted. It was noted that the second low bidder was from out of town. Mr. Swanson cautioned committee re. considering whether in-town or out-of-town bidder. Moved by Klave and Beyer to accept low bid meeting specs., Feed Rite Controls in the amount of $3,919.00. Motion carried.

2. Matter of three-way agreement with Crary Homes & Real Estate
for private installation of sanitary sewer and watermain in
Mighty Acres Phase II.
Mr. Vein reported that Crary was asking to install utilities under private construction, and agreement is between City, Crary and engineer. Moved by Beyer and Klave to authorize entering into the agreement. Motion carried.

3. Change order for Project 4428, city-wide asphalt repair of
streets to include repair of potholes.
Mr. Vein submitted revised change order in the amount of $14,928.65. Moved by Hamerlik and Beyer for approval of the change order in an amount not to exceed $14,928.65. Motion carried.

4. Matter of clay removal/flood emergency.
Mr. Vein submitted tabulation of bids received, indicating that Robinson Excavating was low bidder in the amount of $10,890.00. It was noted that dike was not only to protect houses on Belmont Road but for the entire sanitary sewer drainage area; that a permanent dike would do the same thing. There was some discussion re. area of Belmont and 15th Ave.S.; and will be included in Corps study.

Moved by Beyer and Hamerlik to accept the bid of Robinson Excavating in the amount of $10,890.00. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned.
