MINUTES/URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
Monday, March 4, 1996 - 7:00 p.m.

Members present: Beach, Glassheim, Hanson.

1. Matter of architect for housing project in Burdick's Resub.
Terry Hanson, Urban Development, stated that they have to move ahead with project, concern is that only one bidder; if committee feels comfortable accepting that bid, that is acceptable with their office. He also noted that this is selection only, negotiation of contract will follow; that architectural services will be minimal, review of design, etc. It was noted that an architect is required because of size of project; that Urban Development has option to bring back to committee.

Hanson reported present.

There was some discussion re. hiring of construction manager, whether separate contracts required for general, electrical and mechanical work.

After further discussion it was moved by Beach and Glassheim that we approve selection of Kent Anderson/Architect as architect for the project, with the provision that this doesn't preclude use of a construction manager to supervise the project. Motion carried.

2. Matter of release of CDBG funds.
Terry Hanson reported that in reviewing release of CDBG funds, they find that they need to reduce Bricks/Mortar projects by $39,750, reduce unprogrammed funds for $26,000 to zero, and playground project to $4,250. Moved by Glassheim and Hanson to amend the (previous) recommendation by substituting $4,250 for the playground project and zero for unprogrammed funds. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned.
