City of Grand Forks, North Dakota


	MINUTES/FLOOD RESPONSE COMMITTEE Monday, June 16, 1997 - 5:00 p.m. Members present: Hafner, Bakken, Glassheim, Polovitz. Chairman Hafner stated that they had invited the entire city council of Grand Forks, the city council of East Grand Forks, the Polk County Commissioners and Grand Forks County Commissioners. He stated that this is a public meeting, and that questions this afternoon will be limited to elected public officials, and that tomorrow evening at the UND Memorial Student Union there would be time for public input from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Present were Council Members Beach, Hamerlik, Hanson, Carpener, Sande, Klave, Beyer, Babinchak, Mayor Owens, Mayor Stauss, Members of the East Grand Forks City Council, Members of the Grand Forks County Commission and Members of the Polk County Commission. Ken Vein, city engineer, introduced Howard Thelan, HDR Engineering, Inc., Omaha, who is a former Corps of Engineers official, and who has reviewed information to date and will give briefing of his findings. Copies of the report were distributed to members present. Mr. Thelan reported that he had reviewed data, talked with Corps out of St. Paul, and had a tour of the city
