MINUTES
CITY OF GRAND FORKS - BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
April 14, 1998

The city council of the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota was called to meet as the Board of Equalization in the city council chambers on Tuesday, April 14, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. with President Hagness presiding. Present at roll call were Council Members Beach, Hamerlik, Glassheim, Carpenter, Sande, Klave, Beyer, Babinchak, Hafner, Hagness - 10; absent: Council Members Polovitz, Lucke, Bouley, Bakken - 4.

Mel Carsen, city assessor, reported that by State Statute the City Board of Equalization is to meet on the second Tuesday of April every year to consider the assessments for the current year, and that he has asked the finance committee for an extension on the City Board of Equalization in order to get their work done and are asking for extension to Monday, May 18. It was moved by Council Member Babinchak and seconded by Council Member Hamerlik to extend the Board meeting as requested. Carried 10 votes affirmative.

RECESS
It was moved by Council Member Hamerlik and seconded by Council Member Hafner that the Board of Equalization recess to and reconvene May 18, 1998 at 7:00 p.m. Carried 10 votes affirmative.
