MINUTES
Grand Forks Civil Service Commission
December 13, 2007
Chairperson Bredemeier called the Grand Forks Civil Service Commission to order at approximately 3:33PM in City Hall, Council Chambers. Commissioners, Burlog, Bredemeier, MacGregor, and Johnson were present. Commissioner Nies was absent.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Correction to the Minutes was noted by Commissioner Bredemeier that the meeting was held in Room A101, not the Council Chambers.  It was moved by Commissioner MacGregor and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to approve the November 8, 2007 regular meeting minutes as corrected.
All approved, motion carried.
CHANGES/ADDITIONS
1.  Reassignment Register – 911 Supervisor
2.  Eligibility Register – Office Specialist, Sr. Urban
Development
It was moved by Commissioner MacGregor and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to add the above additions to the agenda.
All approved, motion carried.

ELIGIBILITY REGISTER

Civil Engineering Technician
It was moved by Commissioner MacGregor and seconded by Commissioner Burlog to establish the reassignment register for Civil Engineering Technician at 67.00% as follows:
James Richter
Jason Hensrud
Wayne Johnson
All approved, motion carried.

Water Service Worker (Eligibility Register Test Cutoff)
It was moved by Burlog and seconded by Johnson to establish the written examination score for Water Service Worker at 51.851% thereby allowing eight (8) applicants to be interviewed. Discussion held.
All approve, motion carried.

Wastewater/Stormwater Service Worker (Eligibility Register Test Cutoff)
It was moved by MacGregor and seconded by Johnson to establish the written examination score for Wastewater/Stormwater Service Worker at 75.384% thereby allowing fourteen (14) applicants to be interviewed.
All approve, motion carried.


REASSIGNMENT REGISTERS

Fire Apparatus Specialist
It was moved by Commissioner MacGregor and seconded by Commissioner Burlog to establish the reassignment register for Fire Apparatus Specialist at 53.203% as follows:

All approved, motion carried.
Commissioner MacGregor commented that he was on the interview team and this was a real good group.  It was very difficult to identify who was better in the order, because it was a good group.

911 Supervisor
It was moved by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Burlog to establish the Reassignment Register for 911 Supervisor at 98.00% as follows:

Office Specialist – Urban Development
It was moved by Commissioner MacGregor and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to establish the Eligibility register for Office Specialist – Urban Development at 78.00% as follows:

REEMPLOYMENT REGISTER
Police Officer – Jeramie Quam
It was moved by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Burlog to approve the request of Jeramie Quam to be placed on the reemployment register for one year as recommended by the Police Chief and the Mayor.
All approved, motion carried.

Civil Engineer – Justin Klabo
It was moved by Commissioner MacGregor and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to approve the request of Justin Klabo to be placed on the reemployment register for one year as recommended by the City Engineer and the Mayor.
All approved, motion carried.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS

HR Director Hovland reminded the Commission that they would be electing a new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.

HR Director Hovland wished the Commissioners a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year from the employees of the City of Grand
Forks and thanked them for a good year.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Burlog and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to adjourn the December 13, 2007 regular meeting. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 3:47PM.
