Roll call: Council Members Beach, Hoeppner, Carpenter, Lien, Beyer, Johnson, Hagness - 7, and Mayor Polovitz.

Mayor Polovitz turned the meeting over to Ken Vein, acting city engineer, who introduced representatives of TKDA. Peter Brozek, Dean Johnson, and Charles Mattson reviewed the facility study report with the committee of the whole as follows:

1) Introduction and Scope.
Reps. presented study for 138,000 sq.ft. facility, looked at size of site, location, costs, etc. and that they will make slide presentation of present facilities, and to show other comparable designs.

Shores/Glassheim present.

2) Summary of Recommendations.

3) Existing Conditions (slides)
Peter Brozek made slide presentation of present facilities;

4) Similar facilities/applied design (slides)

5) Program/Space Requirements

6) Schematic Floor Plan

7) Schematic Site Plan

8) Construction Costs
Reps. of TKDA reviewed projected costs for new facility and projected cost comparison and stated City's options:
a) do nothing.
b) bring buildings to code - $3Million
c) build new facility - $7Million
and that to building new facility cost $40,000 year for 50 years; trend is to centralize; that with modern facility and equipment, doesn't cost that much; additional advantages: safety customer service etc. - can't put dollar cost on

9) Cost Analysis

Crawford and Hanson reported present.
