PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF GRAND FORKS, NORTH DAKOTA
Monday, June 29, 1998

The city council of the city of Grand Forks, North Dakota met in special session in the council chambers in the City Hall on Monday, June 29, 1998 at 12:00 noon with Mayor Owens presiding, pursuant to call by Mayor Owens, which was served on all members of the council on June 29, 1998: Document No. 7575 - Notice.

Present at roll call were Council Members Brooks, Polovitz, Hamerlik, Glassheim, Carpenter, Lunak Beyer, Babinchak, Bakken, Hafner, Martinson - 11; absent: Council Members Lucke, Bouley, Klave - 3.

APPROVE MEMBERSHIP OF STANDING COMMITTEES

Mayor Owens reported that a listing of the nominations for members of the standing committees as submitted by the mayor and committee chairs was presented to the city council for confirmation.

COUNCIL MEMBERS BOULEY AND LUCKE
REPORTED PRESENT

FINANCE COMMITTEE: Council Member Babinchak, Chair; Council Members Brooks, Carpenter, Hamerlik.
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE: Council Member Bakken, Chair; Council Members Bouley, Martinson.
PUBLIC SERVICE COMMITTEE: Council Member Hafner, Chair; Council Members Klave, Lucke, Lunak.
URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE: Council Member Glassheim, Chair; Council Members Beyer, Polovitz.
BOARD OF HEALTH: Council Members Bakken, Hafner, Martinson; and Keith Berger, County appointment.

It was moved by Council Member Glassheim and seconded by Council Member Polovitz to confirm the nominations for the standing committees. Carried 13 votes affirmative.

Mayor Owens reported that there are several committees that need to be completed, Appeals Board, that Council Member Martinson and Judge Eslinger were on that board and need to replace those two members; and also need to fill membership on the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Bus Committee. She stated that if anyone was interested to please let her office know.

ADJOURN

It was moved by Council Member Bakken and seconded by Council Member Hamerlik that we do now adjourn. Carried 13 votes affirmative.
