Facilities and Equipment Bureau Annual Report

Mission: “Proactive service and support to the Grand Forks Police Department and our community!”

Facilities: The Grand Forks Police Department facilities are maintained by Doug Barclay and Ricky Stumphf and consist of Police Headquarters and the Operation Annex.



Equipment Maintenance: The equipment maintenance section is responsible for the operational upkeep of Police Department equipment. Property maintained by this section includes (but is not limited to):
  • Department Vehicle Fleet.
  • Portable and Mobile Radios.
  • In-Car Digital Video System.
  • Mobile Data Computer System.
  • Tracking and Inventory of Surplus Equipment.

Property and Evidence: The property section is responsible for procurement, inventory and issuing uniforms and equipment vital for officers to successfully perform their assigned duties. The evidence section is responsible for the accounting, coordination and reporting of thousands of pieces of evidence, which later may be used by detectives, prosecutors, defense attorneys, the Courts, and the property and evidence technicians themselves.

The evidence section is also responsible for the Police Department Impound Lot. Abandoned and forfeited items are auctioned to the public in accordance with Grand Forks City Code and North Dakota Century Code, annually during the months of May/June. Notice is provided two weeks prior in the local newspaper.
