The Grand Forks Police Department will be hosting a Basic Crisis Negotiations Training Course May 9-13, 2011 at the Grand Forks Police Department. Class will run from 0800-1700 hrs each day. Registration fee is $100.00 per student. This includes lunch and training materials. Course instructors will consist of certified trainers from the Grand Forks Regional Crisis Negotiations Team. This course is approved for 40 hours of ND POST certified training. Course topics include CNT history, CNT roles and team structure, negotiation styles, active listening skills, personality types and disorders, PTSD, interviewing and negotiating with the elderly and juveniles, negotiations for corrections, practical scenarios, equipment orientation, policies, standards, personal mental health, CNT resources and what to do if you are taken hostage.
